Governor Reynolds has signed a proclamation declaring September 16-20 as Emergency Management Appreciation Week in Iowa. Noting that emergencies and disasters can strike anywhere at any time, Iowa Emergency Management Coordinators and their staff stand ready to respond, day or night, to Iowans in need. Iowa’s local emergency managers have responded to 51 federally declared disasters and emergencies in the past 34 years, three of those having occurred in 2024 alone.
